LMM would like to thank the thirty or so DJs who attended our meeting in Manchester on March 3 and the thirty five DJs who struggled with the restricted transport in London on April 1 in order to get to Temple Walkabout for the Southern DJ meeting.
Some great ideas came out of these two meetings and I know from conversations with many of you that you found the days useful.
Its great to see so many professional DJs joining together to share ideas and enthusiasms in order to make sure that your events and venues benefit from shared knowledge.
We know that all of you are top of your game and that you put 100% into every night.
We have sent a document to all the DJs outlining many of the ideas which came from these meetings. If you haven’t received one please email the office in order to get a copy.
It is essential that everyone approaches every night with self-motivation and enthusiasm and we know we can rely on you to be the best that you can be.
We are very proud of the standard of our DJs. Keep up the good work. Enjoy the photos of the London and Southern DJs posted on this page.
Please leave your comments on the blog and return regularly to contribute.
If there is anything you wish to blog about we would be happy to consider your contribution. We would like you to return and tell us about any exciting nights you have had in the venues or any events you have run or played at that have stood out.
Finally on Thursday night the new Regents venue Rewind-The Ultimate Party Bar opened in Burnley. I really enjoyed the tremendous atmosphere created by DJ Alex On Neil in this retro cheese venue where the chrome décor and the Volkswagen DJ booth match the 70s,80s,90s music theme.
Alex was wearing his curly perm wig and moustache and looked more like a 70s porn star than a DJ. Jason Reeves (who is the Friday night resident in this brand new venue) turned up on his chopper bike wearing a gold lame jacket with Dick Pains emblazoned on the back.
Upstairs in Rewind it was all Girls Just Want To Have Fun and ABBA with the odd old skool classic thrown in whilst downstairs in Burnley Walkabout DJ Matt Stephens and DJ Josh Bull pumped the party atmosphere with bang up to date RNB ,indie and chart dance and pop.
Outside the venue the fire juggler threw flame balls high up in the air as the crowds gathered to watch the spectacle.
I am sure Rewind The Ultimate Party Bar will be another big success for Regent Inns and LMM are proud to be involved with supplying all entertainment to this new retro party bar.
If you were at The Rewind on the opening weekend in Burnley and you have any photos you can send me I would love to put them on the blog. Please email them to me via the LMM office.
